One of the first exercises in the book Millionaire Success Habits is to ask yourself why you are reading this book/ taking this course, starting this venture 7 times. He says the first 5 or so answers are from the head but by the time you get to this 6th and 7th reasons you begin to answer from the heart and that’s where your real motivation comes from. It’s meant to be better to do it with a partner but I did it by myself while out hiking yesterday and it felt good.
So, why am I reading Millionaire Success Habits/ creating drop shipping businesses/ learning Tim Sykes penny stock trading strategies/ getting my bachelor of commerce at Royal Roads University?
Because I want to make $10k a day
Why do I want to make $10k a day?
When I was in grade 9 I told my friends and family that I wanted to make $10k a day. My friends laughed at me and my mom told me that was nice but that I needed to have a realistic backup plan. I want to prove them wrong.
Why do you want to prove them wrong?
I want to prove them wrong because I want to inspire them as to what is possible. I see my family and friends going about their day making reasonable decisions, playing it safe and putting their dreams on hold. I want to make $10,000 a day, travel the world, date beautiful women, go on wild adventures, surf epic waves and ride the best roads in the world in order to inspire my family and friends to dare to chase after their wildest dreams.
Why do you want to inspire your family and friends to chase after their dreams?
I want to inspire my family and friends to chase after their wildest dreams because it makes me sad to see my mom and dad relegate their dreams to the ‘one day’ category while they work and pay off their bills and wait to retire. It’s sad to think but one day it’ll be their last day and I hope they get to see the places they want to see and do the things they’ve dreamed of doing before that day. I see my sister learning from my parents, taking the safe path and making reasonable decisions. I want her to do what she wants when she wants and to be smart and make businesses that will finance her adventures. I see my friends working away, not even dreaming, not even getting laid, not even laughing. It actually kills me a little. I see them hanging out, not smiling, just occupying the boredom for a little while with the company of others.
Why do you want to your family and friends to live out their wildest dreams?
I want my family and friends to live out their wildest dreams because when I was 18, I remember thinking there was so much more to life than the life I was living. But I didn’t know how to get more from life and I didn’t even know where to start and I sure as hell didn’t know anyone I could ask how to get more from life. I saw another world, of beautiful people and an abundance of cash, adventure and fun but it felt like the most removed thing from my reality. I’ve spent the last 9 years learning how to talk to girls, how to take care of my finances, make business decisions, rock climb, surf, ride motorbikes as part of my quest to getting more out of life. I want to race cars for 10 year old Ryan who was counting down the years and months until he could start driving, I want to date beautiful girls for 18 year old Ryan who couldn’t talk to girls and had never ever kissed a girl. I want to make an abundance of cash and go on adventures around the world and laugh my ass off with amazing people for 18 year old Ryan who knew there was more to life but didn’t know how to get it.
Why do you want to do all that for young Ryan?
I want to date beautiful girls, make an abundance of cash, laugh my ass off with amazing people and go on adventures around the world for young Ryan because one day I will have my own kids and I want them to grow up in an empowered world. I want them to have ambitious dreams and have the courage to make those dreams reality. I want my kids to know that if they are willing to work hard, they can make anything happen. If my kids choose to say they want to make $10k a day, I want their friends to say fuck yeah and I want their parents to encourage them to make it happen. I want my kids to see their beautiful parents have that shine in their eyes, owning their dreams, making the most of their talents and abilities, living in love with one another, having an abundance of cash and going on adventures around the world.
Why do you want to have empowered kids?
I want to have empowered kids because I want to have life by the balls. By that I mean, I want to be able to squeeze life’s balls a little and get what it is that I want from them. I want to be the master of my reality. I want to die knowing that I did life right, I want to put a proverbial dent in the universe, I want to leave this place a little better than when I found it and I want to inspire a few people to dare to do the same.
