The journey of 1000 epics begins with a single step
I recently failed at something I didn’t even really want to do. I was actually quite upset, it would have set myself up really well for the winter but it didn’t pan out.
I went through the whole thing, first I was sad then I was annoyed and then I was out right angry. The story escalated with each beer that evening.
At some point, I ended up angry at myself for being angry about not getting something I didn’t even really want. After that I began to cool down.
I remembered a quote from Jim Carey
“You can fail at what you don’t want. So you might as well take a chance on doing what you love”
I don’t know how to be an unruly gentlemen and I don’t much about being a success guru either.
I’ve been failing a lot more than usual lately, I’ve even been failing at multiple things in a row. I was getting down about it but I can’t.
Since I quit my carpentry job and decided to be an entrepreneur for real, I’ve been on a streak of high production and efficiency. I’ve made a few pivots based on what I’ve learnt along the way and I am still basically at stage 0 but I can’t get down about it.
Failure is just the unintended result of taking action. We all want to win, obviously. So ideally, every action we took would lead to victory but that’s obviously not possible. If you take action, you risk failing.
You can be process oriented or results oriented.
If I choose to be results oriented, I would be disappointed about failing and perhaps decide to stop taking action
If I choose to be process oriented, I am stoked when I fail because it means I was taking action.
I’ve always been taught to be process oriented.
So anyways, onwards and upwards.
I may have just saved over 70% off on a year of hosting from Site Ground, the WordPress hosting around but more on that when I find out for sure.
That’s an affiliate link, so, if you click it and decide to sign up for hosting from Site Ground, I will be paid. I am only recommending Site Ground because it’s what I have switched too and it’s the company I have read the most consistent and best reviews about
