No journey is without setbacks.
1 month into my penny stocking journey I am experiencing two minor setbacks that MUST be dealt with.
- Sleeping in until minutes before the market open
- Stocks To Trade keep crashing my laptop
These are two minor issues that must be dealt with if I intend to succeed in penny stocking.
Getting Up Early
I live on the west coast of Canada, the markets open at 6:30 am my time, it’s fall and with daylights savings time the sun is going down at 4:30 pm. After my initial two week burst of inspiration where I was getting up at 5:00am every day and loving it, I have succumb to getting up only moments before the market opens or an hour into the open.
Yes, I am only learning right now and yes I am a night owl
But no, those aren’t valid excuses. Getting up moments before the market opens doesn’t give me time to look at the stocks I am watching, and come up with plans before trading begins. It makes me reactive and is a great way to blow up my account.
It’s like when this personask Jocko Willink on Twitter for advice about getting up early to study
No excuses, just get after it.
One thing that will really help is to double down on my health. I am feeling run down and my shits have been all over the place and I must stop smoking weed. I am sick and tired of having a morning cough and I know that it isn’t good for my longevity. I remember working on the farm and being disgusted by peoples morning coughs and now I have one….
Deal with it man. You’ll never get to Skeleton Bay otherwise.
I started listening to Head Strong by Dave Asprey.
In it Dave details a two week plan to super charge your brain and the mitochondria that are the powerhouse of your body. He claims the by super charging your mitochondria you will have more energy, calmer moods, less cravings and more will power.
4 things that I will really benefit from improving.
Also your left knee fucking hurts, go back to the physio for a follow up appointment and get that shit sorted out while you still have insurance
Stocks To Trade is pretty awesome, powerful software for finding, tracking and learning about stocks but with an additional two monitors plugged into my laptop it has been crashing a lot. I’ve minimized it down to 3 charts (1 long term, 2 week and intraday chart) but even that crashes a few times a day. The memory on the Windows side of my laptop is also almost full. I need to clean up the memory of the laptop, delete unnecessary shit, reformat it and look on Google for tips to make it run even better.
No fucking excuses
Double down on your health, get up way before the market opens and fix your laptop
